Luci was an interactive character art installation developed by West for the Museum of Sex in New York.
As the story goes, Luci, an alien sexbot from a far away planet, reads about declining millennial sex drives and travels to Earth to “save” millenials via sexts and her social media feed. This project is a satirical commentary about the conflicting generalizations about millennial sexuality.
Luci mocks both our genuine digital narcissism and the hyperbolic media pieces about the de-sexualization of the millennial generation. In addition to her physical construction, Luci also has an interactive element. Users could “sext” with Luci via a twitter bot that responds to their questions and comments with “sexy” robot puns like “sync me daddy” or “you auto complete me.”
